Every Dan Fisher theme is distributed under the Dan Fisher Split License: the PHP code is open source, and everything else is licensed for use on a single website. This page describes both parts and applies to purchases made directly on dan-fisher.dev. Purchases made on ThemeForest are governed by the Envato Market license terms, which follow the same split model.
1. PHP code — GPL
All PHP code in our themes is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. You may use, modify, and redistribute the PHP code under the terms of the GPL.
2. Everything else — proprietary use license
All other parts of a theme — including CSS and SCSS, JavaScript, images, icons, fonts we created, page designs, and bundled demo content — are the property of the licensor and are licensed, not sold. Your license grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use these assets as part of the theme:
- One license covers one website, plus its development and staging copies.
- You may modify the assets to fit your website.
- You may build a website for a client — the license then covers that client’s website. Each additional website requires its own license.
- You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or publicly share the theme or any of its assets, whether modified or not.
- You may not extract assets (styles, scripts, designs, images, demo content) for use outside the licensed website.
3. Updates and support
An annual license includes theme updates and support while it is active. If it expires, your website keeps working exactly as before — renewing restores access to updates, support, and license-gated features (bundled plugin installs and demo import). A lifetime license includes updates and support for as long as the product exists.

4. Bundled premium plugins
Our themes bundle third-party premium plugins (for example Advanced Custom Fields Pro, WPBakery Page Builder, or Slider Revolution, depending on the theme). These plugins are licensed for use as part of the theme, on the website the theme license covers:
- No individual license keys for bundled plugins are provided or required — they are covered by our agreements with their authors.
- Bundled plugin updates are delivered through the theme with an active license.
- Bundled plugins may not be used outside the theme or on unlicensed websites.
5. Termination
The license terminates automatically if you breach its terms. Upon termination you must stop using the proprietary assets. Sections describing GPL rights to the PHP code are unaffected by termination.
6. Licensor
The licensor is KONSENZ d.o.o., Rojčeva ulica 20, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia (registration no. 6729762000, VAT ID SI34385894), operating under the brand “Dan Fisher”. This license is governed by the laws of Slovenia. Questions? Write to support@dan-fisher.dev.
