How it works today
Every theme and template is currently sold on ThemeForest under Envato’s licenses: a Regular License covers one end product, and each purchase includes 6 months of author support (extendable at checkout), handled at my support center.
As themes gain Freemius integration, you’ll activate them with a free license key and get updates automatically in your WordPress dashboard — no matter where you bought. Same code, same updates, same support, whichever store you choose.
What’s coming: direct licenses
- Buy. Planned pricing: $69 / year per theme — noticeably below the marketplace price. Checkout, EU VAT and your invoice handled by Freemius.
- Build. Activate your license key and get updates automatically in your dashboard.
- Renew (or don’t). Renewals at 40% off keep updates and support flowing. Your site keeps working either way.

Refunds
ThemeForest purchases follow Envato’s refund policy. When direct sales launch, they’ll come with a straightforward money-back guarantee — if a theme doesn’t work as described and we can’t fix it together, you get your money back.
Common questions
How many sites does a license cover?
One production site (a staging or local copy doesn’t count against it). Need more? Get in touch — volume options are planned for the direct shop.
Can I use a theme for a client project?
Yes. Buy a license, build the site, hand it over. Your client doesn’t need their own license for that one site.
Do you charge VAT?
Envato handles VAT and invoicing for marketplace purchases today. Direct sales will run through Freemius, which calculates and remits VAT automatically and issues proper invoices.
I bought on ThemeForest — am I a second-class customer?
Not at all. Your theme activates through Freemius like any direct purchase, updates arrive in your dashboard, and support runs through the same support center. Direct buyers mainly get better pricing and renewals.
